Generate Inventory Transfer Requests Based on Production

This feature requires that your FlexiBake is running version 2024.001 or later.

Sometimes it's easiest to store some of your raw materials offsite from your production facility. When the time comes that those raw materials are required to complete production, those raw materials will need to move from their storage site to the production facility so that they can be consumed. In FlexiBake, we accomplish this by creating and then shipping an Inventory Transfer Request. With this tool, FlexiBake can look at your production requirements and inventory on hand to automatically create the ITRs for you, saving time and effort compared to manually creating them.

This tutorial assumes that production has already been entered into the system. This feature is compatible with both Schedule Production and Enter Production, to learn more about these please see our guides Schedule Production and Enter Production: Based on Qty Ordered.
This tool also considers the team that production is assigned to, to learn more about teams, check out Add a Team, Assigning a Recipe to a Team and Assign a Default Team to a Product

To generate ITRs for production requirements:

1. In the upper menu bar, click on the Activities menu, then select Shipping Related
2. Select Generate ITRs
3. Select the Team you would like to generate ITRs for. 
   • Selecting a specific team will create an ITR only for raw materials required by production assigned to that team. If raw materials will be required from multiple remote facilities, then each source facility will get a separate ITR.
   • Selecting <All> will generate separate ITRs for each team. If there are production items not assigned to any team, then an extra ITR will be created for the raw materials needed by those items. If raw materials will be required from multiple remote facilities, then each source facility will get a separate ITR.
   • When <All> is selected, checking the Combine into a single ITR checkbox will cause  teams to not be considered. Multiple ITRs will only be generated if there are raw materials required from multiple remote facilities.
4. Select the date range to consider. Open production in this range, including on the start and end date, will used to determine the raw materials and quantities required to appear on the ITRs.
5. Select the Request Delivery By date. This is the date you would like to ship the ITRs between locations.
6. Click OK to generate the ITRs.
7. The generated ITRs will appear in the grid. Double click on an ITR to open it and make changes if desired.
