Although FlexiBake provides the tools to design your labels to meet regulatory requirements, it is your responsibility to ensure the labels you create meet regulatory requirements.
FlexiBake contains a multitude of nutritional table styles, but you may want to resize or adjust the shape of a nutritional panel to get your labels looking just right.
For Canadian clients, please be aware that the CFIA has stringent regulations concerning nutritional panels, including the font sizes of various elements. Resizing nutritional tables can potentially alter font sizes and other elements, so we recommend choosing a pre-made table. If you must resize, please proceed with caution.
To resize or adjust a nutritional panel, you can follow these steps:
- On the Menu Bar navigate to the Activities drop down and then the Maintain Label Objects button.
- Select a pre-made facts panel from the list appropriate to your country's labeling requirements then select the Clone button.
- Your cloned facts panel will appear at the top of the available labels list. Select the new panel then select the Edit button at the bottom.
- Modify the Name to make it easily identifiable.
- Enter the Width and Height dimensions of the new panel.
- Select the Preview button so you can see the changes you make to the panel. The panel will initially appear in the middle of the screen. You can click and drag it to a different screen location.
- Click the Auto Adjust button. The nutritional information will auto adjust to fit the panel. Be careful not to skip this step, as you could end up with the same table size surrounded by unsightly white space or a cropped table missing information.
After Auto Adjusting: - In some situations, the labeling on the panel will need to be manually adjusted. Scroll through the grid until you find the column labeled Text. Once found, select the row associated to the panels' text you would like to manually adjust.
- Below the grid, the labels text properties will be displayed. From here, you can adjust the Font Size so the text will properly fit the panel. Select the Update button to see the change on the preview screen. Advanced users can also adjust the vertical and horizontal offset locations and other display properties.
- Once all the panel adjustments are complete, select the OK and Close buttons to save the new panel.
Your newly named and adjusted panel is now available for use on product labels.
