Record Allergens of a Raw Material

Regulating agencies, like the CFIA and USDA, can require allergen alerts to be included on the packaging of product. In general, including allergen alerts is a good safety measure for consumers and manufacturers alike.

FlexiBake can generate these alerts on the label for you, but this requires that raw materials that are or contain allergens be tagged as such. This tag will carry through the production chain alongside the nutritional information, allowing you to include an allergen alert with the ingredient list.

To record an allergen: 

1. Navigate to the Inventory Centre then click on the Raw Materials button.                                                                                                      

2. Select the Raw Material and double click or click Edit in the bottom left corner. 
                                                     
3. Click the Allergens tab. 
                                                                  
4. Select Yes or No as applicable from the drop-down to the left of the appropriate allergen. Repeat for all allergens present in the Raw Material.
                                                             
5. Select OK to save.
